OPERATION DISTRACTION
Dating back to 2009 in the initial year of full operation, The Dawgs Project created and enhanced support for deployed dog handlers, veterinarians, and Tangos (vet techs). We and our volunteers provide "goodie paks" to individual Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen during their deployment to off-shore locations. If you would like to actively participate with us in providing care packages to some incredibly dedicated folks, contact Jon Hemp at jonhemp@thedawgsproject.com at your earliest opportunity.

Diego Garcia, an atoll of the Chagos Archipelago in the British Indian Ocean Territory, is located 7 degrees south of the equator.
Adopt a Dawg 2014
Each year since 2009 the Dawgs Project has adopted an off-shore military kennel - usually one that was not in the AOR but out-of-the-way where Young Dawgs typically begin to feel that they may have been forgotten.
For 2014, The Dawgs Project stepped both inside the "Sand Box" and outside of the traditional box and embraced a component of the MWD Community that few people are aware of, that make a critical contribution to the MWD mission, and have long deserved our appreciation and accommodation for their dedication and professionalism.
We are proud to have served the Vets & Tangos of the US Army Veterinarian Support Services throughout much of 2013 and again in 2014.
